Wilmot Elementary is a small school serving preschool through 5th grade in Evergreen, Colorado. We are a feeder school to Evergreen Middle School and Evergreen High School. Wilmot prides itself on being a community school that is focused on developing the whole child. As part of the Jeffco Public Schools, Wilmot Elementary follows the Colorado academic standards aligned with the national Common Core standards. We use the EL Education curriculum resource for literacy based on the high-quality rea…
ding materials, a structure aligned with the science of reading, the emphasis on strong writing instruction, and the integration of Social Emotional Learning. The pillars of EL Education include mastery of knowledge and skills, high-quality student work, and character. The program?s focus on character dovetails with Wilmot?s core values of Courage, Leadership, Integrity, Mindset, and Belonging. We use Illustrative Math as our curricular resource because it aligns with standards and helps children build a conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts. Wilmot is a multi-year recipient of the John Irwin School of Excellence Award, awarded to schools in Colorado with exceptional academic achievement. However, what families appreciate most about the school is the strong sense of community that makes Wilmot feel like an extended family.
