About Kendallvue Elementary School (4549)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Kendallvue Elementary School

2025-2026

Kendallvue Elementary school is a PK-5th grade school that works to ensure all learners are curious, creative, and confident. We accomplish this by creating an environment where all students feel welcome and ready to learn; embracing relationships that challenge and support each other, and where all students are valued and achieve at high levels. Kendallvue embraces a philosophy that learning happens within and outside our school walls. We offer multiple field trip experiences for all grades and… incorporate an overnight camping experience with our intermediate students. Kendallvue teachers are committed to continuous growth in their practice and creation of a learning environment that allows for all children to be successful both academically and socially. We have a strong mental health team, with a full-time SEL and 2 social workers, that we have prioritized the last four years to ensure we meet the needs of our students post COVID. We have 1:1 technology for K-5th grade. Our Digital Teacher Librarian (DTL) continues to support a new path toward more STEAM/STEM opportunities for students. This aligns with our new mission statement of ?All students at Kendallvue are creative, curious, and confident learners.? Our students are taught through a positive behavior system (PBIS) that empowers students to achieve academic excellence and leadership through critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, reasoning, problem-solving, and character development in a welcoming and safe environment. Our staff is trained in Restorative Practices strategies. As a receiving school in the fall of 2023, Kendallvue changed enrollment from 240 students in the 2022-23 school year to 355 students in the 2023-24 school year. Our ELL population more than doubled to nearly 35 students designated as LEP or NEP. Our SPED population also increased to nearly 21% of our student population. This includes our Affective Needs program. Our staffing increased to 3 Learning Specialists to support our students. Throughout the consolidation process, we hired 9 more additional staff to support our students. Our emphasis on team and community building will be on-going throughout the year. This will include community events (Dinners Out Nights, Family Nights at school, increased after school enrichment opportunities for students). We are also expanding our WATCH DOGS program. This consolidation process continues to have an impact as our enrollment has settled in at 319 students. Other elements that are unique to Kendallvue include: Innovation Lab/Maker Space: A collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring, and sharing that uses high tech to low tech tools. This space is helping to prepare those who need the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technolog, engineering, and math (STEM). We provide hands-on learning, help with critical thinking skills, and boost student self-confidence in the objects they create. The innovation lab/maker space works on fostering entrepreneurship. Social emotional learning using PBIS, daily community circles, Second Step, and staffing of a full time SEL and two social workers. Continuous professional learning with staff through our shared leadership structures. Strong parent and community relationships.
