Prairie School Dist. RE-11J in Northeastern Colorado, is located on the grasslands between the towns of New Raymer and Stoneham.  The school is approximately thirty miles west of Sterling and twenty-seven miles north of Fort Morgan.  Dist. RE-11J serves students from all mentioned towns and surrounding communities as well those students who reside in the district. Prairie School is a close-knit educational community serving 163 students from the combined rural towns of Stoneham and New Raymer. D… espite its small size, the school offers a wide range of extracurricular opportunities that foster personal growth, leadership, and community involvement. Students can engage in a variety of clubs and organizations, including FFA (Future Farmers of America), FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), National Honor Society (NHS), and Sources of Strength, a program designed to promote mental health and wellness. Additionally, the Student Council provides leadership opportunities, allowing students to take an active role in school events and decision-making. Athletically, Prairie School offers a robust sports program, including football, volleyball, basketball, track, and baseball, giving students the chance to compete and excel in a variety of disciplines. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in extracurricular activities, Prairie School is committed to providing a well-rounded experience for its students in a small, supportive community. Prairie School offers a variety of academic programs and organizations that cater to a wide range of student interests and needs. In addition to the previously mentioned extracurricular activities, the school provides specialized opportunities for academic enrichment and support. For students seeking additional challenges, Prairie offers a Gifted and Talented program that helps advanced learners explore new academic areas and reach their full potential. The school also provides intervention supports to help students who may need extra assistance, ensuring that every learner has the resources they need to succeed. Students with a passion for academics can participate in math and science contests and Knowledge Bowl, allowing them to test their skills against peers in a competitive yet supportive environment. Music and art programs give students the chance to express their creativity, while foreign language courses broaden their global perspective and language skills. For those looking to earn college credit while still in high school, Prairie offers concurrent enrollment classes, providing students with the opportunity to take college-level courses and gain valuable experience that will prepare them for further education. With these diverse academic opportunities, Prairie School strives to offer a well-rounded educational experience that supports all students in their academic, creative, and personal development.
