The Moffat County School District (MCSD) is located in rural northwestern Colorado 90 miles East of the Utah border and 40 miles South of the Wyoming border and its mission statement is as follows: "The Moffat County School District will Education and inspire students to thrive in an environment of change." SD's five year strategic plan calls out three connected initiatives: A Guaranteed & Viable Curriculum Effective Teaching Practices Safe, Supportive, & Collaborative Culture These initiatives are framed by fiscal responsibility and employing high quality staff. The MCSD serves approximately 1800 students in six schools, with 58.4% identified as recipients of "Free & Reduced Lunch," 11.3% of students were classified as multilingual learners, 15.9% were students with disabilities (on an IEP), 32.1% were considered minority students, and 5.7% were identified as gifted.
