About Genoa-Hugo C113 (1780)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Genoa-Hugo C113

2024-2025

Genoa-Hugo is a small rural district on the eastern plains. We are one building, PK-12 school district with an average enrollment of around 223. The stakeholders, instructional and administrative staff are well-known and easily accessible for two-way communication. Parents comment formally on the annual survey, back to school nights, Parent-Teacher Conferences, District accountability, monthly meetings with Superintendent, and informally through phone calls and occasionally at school activities.… The UIP is written by the superintendent, Principal and then reviewed by staff, our DAC and school board. Teacher input is sought weekly in working lunch meetings, and during professional development days, as well as the Superintendent Advisory committee. Student performance is evaluated daily. Teachers make decisions on instruction and curriculum based on standards and assessment data. Our Title I staff member reaches out to all instructors and parents informing them of decisions and soliciting feedback about Title I services and progress. NWEA and state testing score continue to show steady and appropriate growth. The Genoa-Hugo School Board (5 members) as well as the District Accountability Committee (approximately 12 members) are apprised of decisions in reference to Title Programs as well as Instructors (20 total/14 of which are community members) and administration (2 both community members) determine Title program activities and aligned instruction, procedures, and purchases after considering input. Taking into consideration the total number of stakeholders involved in providing input to the ESEA plan (30 stakeholders as noted above), and a student enrollment of 223 PK-12, approximately 33% of the total population of Hugo (estimated at around 800) is represented at some level through the assessment process, the gathering of data, feedback, and/or the decision-making process. This percentage indicates a high number of participants involved in the process of prioritizing needs and strategies for the ESEA Plan.
