About Clear Creek RE-1 (0540)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Clear Creek RE-1

2025-2026

Clear Creek School District (CCSD) is a small, rural district located along Colorado?s Front Range. Over the past two decades, CCSD has experienced a significant decline in enrollment, with student numbers dropping to nearly half of what they once were. Each year, about 200 students who reside within district boundaries choose to attend schools in neighboring districts instead. While a small portion of this trend can be attributed to the mountain geography?where some Jeffco schools are geographi… cally closer to Clear Creek homes?the larger factor has been CCSD?s inconsistent reputation over the past seven to fourteen years. Over the past three years, district data has shown encouraging improvement. All elementary schools earned a Performance rating on the Colorado Department of Education?s School Performance Framework (SPF), and the high school would have achieved the same rating if parent refusals for state assessments had been properly collected and submitted. The district?s sole middle school continues to expand opportunities for students by focusing on increasing their sense of belonging, delivering rigorous and standards-based instruction, promoting leadership and choice, and improving attendance. Despite these positive developments, districtwide reading and math results have not demonstrated consistent growth or sustained achievement over time. As we continue to analyze our data and refine our action plans, several key challenges have emerged: students are not consistently deeply engaged in their learning, instructional practices vary across classrooms and schools, and instruction is not always aligned with or exceeding grade-level standards. Consequently, our performance data fluctuates from year to year without showing steady upward progress. Even so, we are energized by the clarity these insights provide. CCSD has identified targeted action steps and supports aligned with our district?s needs, each connected to one or more of our three priorities? Best Educators, Empowered Learners, and Visionary District.
