About Falcon Bluffs Middle School (2963)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Falcon Bluffs Middle School

2025-2026

Since our ribbon-cutting ceremony in 2003, Falcon Bluffs has provided a comprehensive education dedicated to the success of middle school students. FBMS offers a balanced curriculum that includes traditional core subjects, a wide range of elective opportunities, and a variety of clubs, sports, and activities to cater to diverse student interests. Pre-AP Training and Curriculum: Unique to Falcon Bluffs, our staff is trained in Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) strategies. Our Language Arts departme… nt utilizes Pre-AP and SpringBoard curricula, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the academic challenges ahead. CMAS Growth Scores: Our students consistently achieve CMAS growth scores that are at or near the top of Jefferson County middle schools. High School Partnership: We collaborate closely with Chatfield Senior High to ensure our students are ready for Advanced Placement (AP) and Concurrent Enrollment opportunities in their high school years. SOAR Commitments: At Falcon Bluffs, we emphasize our core values of Safety, Ownership, and Respect (SOAR) in everything we do. These commitments are the foundation of our school's positive environment and success. Professional Learning Communities (PLCs): Our staff is deeply engaged in Professional Learning Communities, focusing on student needs and utilizing common assessment data to drive instructional decisions. Restorative Practices: We implement Restorative Practices to build a supportive school community and address issues in a constructive manner. Innovative Programs 6th Grade Transition: Falcon Bluffs led the way in South Jeffco by welcoming 6th-grade students into middle school in 2005. This early transition has been key in helping students transition and thrive in a middle school environment. WEB Program: Our 6th and 8th graders participate in the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program, fostering connections and a sense of belonging through peer-led activities and mentorship. Love of Literacy: At Falcon Bluffs, we believe in nurturing a genuine passion for literature. All 6th-grade students participate in our Love of Literacy exploratory class, designed to instill a lifelong love for reading and help students appreciate the richness of storytelling beyond mere information gathering. This class immerses students in the joy of literature, encouraging them to explore diverse genres, understand literary elements, and connect deeply with texts. STEM: We integrate Science and Mathematics through our dynamic STEM programming. Our pre-engineering class combines traditional woodworking skills with cutting-edge technology, utilizing our new laser engraver to work with materials such as glass, wood, metal, and plastic. In addition, our computer applications classes equip students with essential tech skills for the modern world. We offer hands-on experience with drones, coding, Photoshop, Scratch, Canva, Sumo Paint, TimeToast, Voki, and Internet safety, preparing students to excel in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
