Lamar School District Re-2, located in the heart of rural southeast Colorado, serves a diverse student body from preschool through 12th grade across multiple schools. The district is dedicated to cultivating an environment where academic excellence, innovation, and personal growth are at the forefront of the educational experience. The current school format is as follows: Melvin Hendrickson Development Center: Pre-School (117 students) Alta Vista Charter School: Grades K-6 (132 students) Washing… ton Elementary: Grades K-2 (219 students) Parkview Elementary: Grades 3-5 (260 students) Lamar Middle School: Grades 6-8 (268 students) Lamar High School: Grades 9-12 (393 students) One of the district?s highlights are its comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, which provide students with real-world, hands-on learning opportunities across various industries, including agriculture, business, technology, and skilled trades. These programs are designed to equip students with the practical skills and industry knowledge needed for both immediate workforce entry and further education. The district continually works to align its CTE offerings with emerging industry standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for the demands of today?s job market.
