About Oberon Middle School (6470)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Oberon Middle School

2025-2026

Oberon is a middle school located in the suburbs of Arvada near 72nd and Simms Street. Oberon?s mission is to prepare sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students for success in high school and beyond through promoting life-long learning skills, encouraging active and educated citizenry, developing academic excellence, providing a safe and caring environment, and by offering both courses that enrich students? education as well as interventions and supports for students not progressing in a core con… tent area. Oberon expects all students to strive for excellence during their middle school experience in order to be college and career ready. As of September 2025, Oberon?s total enrollment is 714 students. Oberon's free/reduced lunch rate is 28% and demographics include 77% White, 18% Hispanic, and 5% other race/ethnicity. Oberon supports 10% of our students as special education, 1% as English language learners, and 12% as gifted learners. Our school structures of interdisciplinary teaming coupled with vertical (6-8) content department alignment creates a seamless avenue for implementation of systemic practices, including MTSS structures, to support student success. When analyzing data to support our UIP, Oberon collaborated with our district assessment department, our school's Academic Leadership Team, our full teaching staff, and our Parent Accountability Committee to synthesize all available assessment data. Data includes state testing results from previous years: PARCC data (reading and math), CMAS data (science), district administered reading and math assessments (MAP), school-wide use of rubrics for systemic writing and our PLCs use of classroom common assessment data. Utilization of these scored helped us look at our students' results, allowed progress monitoring of student growth, and also served as our goal setting for our UIP. Our process for developing our school?s UIP includes involvement from school staff, parent accountability team, the Oberon's Academic Leadership Team, Core Content Teams, and District stakeholders.
