2023-2024

Alamosa School District participated in co-creating the Core Beliefs, Vision, Mission, Strategic Plan, and Profile of a Graduate.Participants in both the English and Spanish sessions expressed that the Alamosa community is a tight- knit one, where community members are rugged, tough, resilient and hard working. Participants noted they are a small town where members can easily build relationships, and it is a town that rallies to support one another. Participants shared there is also a pervading … sense of tradition and pride in the Alamosa community. They expressed that many families have been there for generations, and there are new transplants, especially from Adams State College. ASD is Accredited with Improvement Plan; Low Participation Profile of a Graduate. Alamosa Graduates are: Resilient Perseverance/Determination Self-Advocate and Initiative Critical Thinking/Analysis Local and Global Connected Global Awareness Cultural Awareness Social Awareness Locally Awareness Future Ready Academic Skills Interpersonal Communication Skills Critical Thinking/Analysis Confident Self Awareness Self Management Adaptability and Flexibility Core Beliefs: Understands that students? basic needs must be met before they can be expected to think, learn, and create deeply. Has high expectations for each and every student. Identifies, recognizes and builds on the strengths of our students to ensure they grow through their skills. Creates inclusive environments and celebrates the different cultures and heritages of our community. Vision: Alamosa School District students grow academically, personally, and socially in partnership with their families and educators by learning and demonstrating resilience, confidence, global and social connection, and future-ready skills.
