About Woodland Park Re-2 (3020)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Woodland Park Re-2

2025-2026

Woodland Park School District (WPSD) is a rural public-school district located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Teller County, Colorado. Serving approximately 1,860 students across four schools?including one 7th -12th grade Jr./Sr. High School, two K-6th grade elementary schools and one K-12th Grade Public Charter School. The district attracts families who value a close-knit educational environment, small class sizes, and strong connections between students, staff, and the broader communit… y. Over the past several years, Woodland Park School District has undergone significant transformation due to a variety of organizational and structural decisions. These changes have included the realignment of grade levels, with 6th grade students now integrated into our elementary schools and 7th and 8th grade students relocated to the high school, which has since transitioned into a Jr./Sr. High School. Additionally, our former middle school campus is now home to a K?12 public charter school, expanding educational options within the district. As part of our restructuring efforts, we also made the difficult decision to close Gateway Elementary and consolidate its students into Summit Elementary and Columbine Elementary. Both elementary schools are now Title I schools, providing additional support and resources for student learning. With these structural changes has come a period of transition at both the district and school levels. We have welcomed new leadership, experienced staff turnover, and are continuing to rebuild our teams with dedicated professionals committed to student success. Despite these challenges, Woodland Park School District remains focused on fostering a strong and cohesive educational community. While we recognize that there are still climate and culture issues to address, there is a shared desire among staff, families, and leadership to move forward together. By uniting around a common vision and focusing on collaboration and academic excellence, we are optimistic about the future of our schools and the success of every student we serve.
