About Lone Star 101 (3060)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Lone Star 101

2025-2026

Lone Star School District is comprised of one rural school building with 120 K-12 students. Students are clustered into elementary, middle, and high school groups. We are located 21 miles from the small town of Otis, which is a different school district. Farming and ranching are the major vocations in the area. Approximately 60% of the students are coming from out of district to attend. The percent of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch is 36%. The strengths in the district include h… igh expectations, rigor, and high community support for the school. The Lone Star K-12 teaching staff participates in data analysis starting in August looking at data from NWEA, DIBELS, SAT, and the School Performance Frameworks to determine our general trends in student achievement and growth. As a remote, rural school district our CTE programs are a key to educating the whole child. With over 95% of our students in FFA and 60% of our students in FBLA students graduate Lone Star with the trifecta! College, Career, and workforce readiness! Boasting a very high graduation rate along with a vast majority of our student population matriculating directly into the workforce, a career, or some level of college, Lone Star places high value in making sure all students have a plan, post high school.
