About Everitt Middle School (2820)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Everitt Middle School

2025-2026

Everitt Middle School serves 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in the Wheat Ridge area, with a total enrollment of approximately 450 students. Each year, we welcome students from five elementary schools. The majority of our eighth grade students matriculate to Wheat Ridge High School. We serve a student body where approximately 60% of our students are eligible for free/reduced-price lunch, and over 50% of our students represent minoritized populations. Approximately 22% of our student population q… ualify for special education services and 10% for ESL services. Some of our students come to us below grade level, and we offer co-taught classes in reading and math as well as in-class support from paraprofessionals. We have a center-based Gifted and Talented program and the enrollment in our GT program accounts for about 21% of our students. We also have a center-based program for students who have significant support needs. We offer elective choices (including advanced courses) in instrumental and vocal music, art, theatre and musical theatre, technical education, STEM, Spanish, and physical education.  In the 2025-2026 school year, Everitt remains committed to the values and principles revealed in our 2020 visioning process and reconfirmed by our 2024 visioning process; and the work of our 2025 Prevention and Intervention task force. Our mission guided our UIP development conversations, which included our partners in CDE and the Jeffco Turnaround Support Team, our Academic Leadership Team, and our SAC examining the following data to identify improvement priorities: The following groups examined this data to prioritize student needs this year and to create a plan of action: School Accountability Committee (Parent Partnership), Academic Leadership Team, and professional learning communities for each content area. After analyzing key data in a body of evidence, we determined root causes and prioritized urgent challenges that informed our major improvement strategies for the year.
