Focus: Ute Meadows Elementary School is located in the Chatfield Area Articulation in Littleton, Colorado. Our school population has historically performed well on state and local assessments. We have a strong instructional focus that is standards based and aligned with our district and CDE expectations. We are classified as a healthy school, which means we are teaching proper eating habits, serving color rich foods, as well promoting physical. An area of growth for us is that we have nearly 34%…
of our students that are below grade-level proficiency in reading and in math. Our major improvement strategies are intentionally designed to address these achievement gaps. A major highlight for our school is that members that were identified as Students of Color or Students that qualify for free and reduce lunch had higher growth and achievement levels on CMAS. An area of concern that we plan to address is related to our students with IEPS. We need to be more intentional about how we prepare our students to tackle the rigor, stamina, and other challenges associated with standardized testing. We are proud to host several after school programs: Little Medical School, Sticky Fingers Cooking, Soccer Stars, Space Voyage, Mad Science Golf Squad, Karate, and Cub Scouts. We have a really involved PTA that is engaged with our staff and students. Lastly, we honored to offer our Significant Support program for our students that have cognitive, physical, or developmental needs.
