The full-time school at Jeffco Virtual Academy (JVA) is a statewide online Alternative Education Campus (AEC) serving students in grades 8-12. JVA is proudly ranked in the top 10% of AECs in the State of Colorado. At JVA, we meet students where they are and believe that every student can grow. We work as a team to provide an innovative, flexible, and supportive environment that fosters a balanced, healthy life and prepares students to thrive in school and beyond. Our online school offers asynch… ronous learning opportunities with synchronous support courses for students who are struggling. All students are required to attend weekly scheduled Advisement sessions and some students will attend weekly scheduled Access classes if their grades drop below a certain level. New students are required to attend 12-hours of Otter Onboarding, which prepares students for the type of learning and at-home support needed to be successful in an online environment. JVA uses the online platforms Schoology for first-time learning and Edgenuity for credit-recovery. JVA is proud to have a number of graduates receiving the Seal of Biliteracy each year and hosts a growing number of National Honor Society inductees. Activities that students can participate in at JVA include student government, newspaper, yearbook, Capstone, and art club, with more added each semester based on student interest.
