Green Gables is an incredible neighborhood school community embracing partnerships between our students, staff, families and neighbors to create the best learning experiences for all students. a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment. Vision: Through high expectations, we empower all students with the academic and social skills to succeed, develop meaningful relationships, and contribute to a better world. We ground our planning to grade level standards, utilizing high quality curricular resources. Our staff is all trained in Orton Gillingham and we utilize it for our explicit instruction in foundational skills and morphology K-5. We also utilize Heggerty PreK-2 to build our students phonemic awareness. The remainder of our literacy instruction is grounded in the EL curriculum which focuses on three dimensions of student achievement in literacy: content mastery, high quality student work, and habits of character. We are in our second year of implementing Illustrative Math K-5. Our preschool utilizes The Creative Curriculum to engage our youngest learners. In addition to academics, a strong emphasis is placed on social emotional learning and building strong communities in our classroom CREWS and school. We start and end our day in CREW circles and dedicated to ensuring we have an inclusive community focused on belonging. The staff at Green Gables is committed to creating extraordinary experiences for students and families. We value the partnerships between school and community and know that great things happen for our kids when we all work together.
