A MESSAGE FROM:
Challenge to Excellence Charter School
2025-2026
Challenge to Excellence (C2E) is a premier Douglas County S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) school serving Kindergarten through eighth grade. In 2025, C2E expanded its student population from 550 to 675, reflecting continued community growth and demand for our innovative academic program. C2E prepares students for future careers and challenges through technology-rich, research-based instruction, hands-on learning, and creative engagement. Every student uses technology…
in all subjects, and our classrooms emphasize differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Project-based learning is central to our Science and Social Studies curriculum, and students develop fluency in Google Apps for Education and multiple digital platforms. We prioritize both academic and personal growth, offering strong programs in Music, Art, Spanish, and Physical Education (PE). Our students participate in intramural and competitive sports including tumbling, soccer, volleyball, cross-country, and basketball. A dynamic, school-wide drama production is held annually, engaging students from Kindergarten through eighth grade. C2E serves a diverse student population. As of 2024?25, 74.6% of students identify as minority, 23% are multilingual learners, 11.6% are identified as gifted, 6.4% qualify for Free or Reduced Price Lunch, and 4.7% receive services through an IEP. Student learning is continuously monitored through i-Ready diagnostics in Reading and Math three times per year (fall, winter, spring). Teachers use these results to inform classroom instruction for individual students and the whole class, while administrators analyze diagnostic data with teachers to develop actionable strategies for improvement. Additionally, students in grades 3?8 participate in the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) each spring, with results informing annual school-wide planning, including the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP). C2E?s mission is to equip students with a robust foundation of skills and experiences to be successful, honorable leaders in a complex, future world.
