About Castle Rock Elementary School (1362)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Castle Rock Elementary School

2024-2025

At Castle Rock Elementary (CRE), we take pride in being a Project-Based Learning (PBL) school. PBL is an innovative teaching approach that encourages students to explore real-world problems and challenges. Through hands-on projects, students develop a deeper understanding of subjects while building essential cross-curricular skills. Whether working in collaborative groups or individually, students showcase their knowledge in creative ways such as posters, dioramas, multimedia presentations, and … more! In addition to classroom learning, CRE offers unique experiences through our natural backyard habitat. This outdoor space serves as an extension of the classroom, where students engage with nature and learn about the environment. Our partnership with the Castle Rock Open Space and Trails Department allows students to help care for and improve this habitat, while observing a wide variety of native wildlife such as deer, coyotes, and foxes. Each grade level participates in the care and maintenance of our habitat, giving students hands-on opportunities to connect with nature. We strive to meet the needs of our diverse community by offering a variety of programs and extracurricular activities throughout the school year. From choir, art club, and Battle of the Books to our HEX athletic competitions, fall musical production, and student leadership programs, there are many ways for your child to get involved beyond the classroom. We are also proud of our thriving community service projects that empower students to give back both to our school and the larger Castle Rock community. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an essential part of our school community, hosting exciting events such as Turkey Bingo, the Sock Hop, and the Coyote Fitness Challenge, in addition to fundraising efforts and spirit nights at local restaurants. These events are wonderful opportunities for families to connect, support the school, and get involved in their child?s education. At CRE, we believe in nurturing the whole child by providing a well-rounded education that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and a sense of responsibility toward the community. We are excited to partner with you to ensure that your child thrives in their journey here at Castle Rock Elementary.
