Aurora Highlands P-8 is an Aurora Public School that opened in August of 2023 serving grades P-8. We are a public school that utilizes the adopted APS curriculum to provide our students with the necessary skills to succeed in High School and beyond. Our projected enrollment for the 24-25 school year is 440 students. We serve a community that sits along the E470 corridor and serves the subdivisions of Aurora Highlands, Painted Prairie, Green Valley East and Singletree. Our current enrollment is 6…
50 students. Our demographics are 36% Hispanic, 29% Black or African American, 17% White and 19% Other. Our program data shows 14% of our students are identified SPED, 30% ELL and 3% identified as Gifted or High Potential. We have and will continue to solicit parent and community involvement in both our PTO and SAC committees. Through email, phone and in-person invitations. Our school operates a 7.5-hour school day with 120 minutes for Literacy, 90 minutes for Math, 45 minutes for ELD/ALD, 60 minutes for specials, and 45 minutes for SC/SS at the elementary level. At the middle school level, students have 65 minutes for Core contents (Math, Literacy, Science and Social Studies), 45minutes for ELD/ALD, and 60 minutes for Electives. The Aurora Highlands staff includes a leadership team consisting of the Principal, Assistant Principal, Teaching Partner, CLDE Teacher Leader, 2 Counselors, an Office Manager and Community Liaison. The Instructional Leadership meets monthly and includes the Principal, Assistant Principal, Teaching Partner, CLDE Teacher Leader, Reading Interventionist, Special Education Staffing Chair and a Teacher Representative from each grade level.
