Ancient Greece and continued to develop through ancient Rome and the Renaissance. It involves a three-part process of training the mind and using traditional standards of teaching, curriculum, and discipline. A classical education holds that humans are thinking creatures and are naturally curious. It values knowledge for its own sake and prepares students to be ?good? or virtuous citizens. The West campus opened its doors in 2007 to students in grades K-6. The school added grades 7 and 8 in the following years. In 2009-10, the school expanded its facilities to add more classrooms to serve its growing enrollment. With wait lists in multiple grade levels, VCS opened a second facility at the East campus in 2014. Initially serving students in grades K-10. 11th and 12th grades were added in the following years and the very first senior class graduated in 2017. Today, VCS has the privilege of educating over 1100 students in grades K-8 at VCS West and K-12 at VCS East. The school feels incredibly lucky to serve a student population that is rich with diversity, and includes students with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.
