We will be relentless in our pursuit of providing high-quality, rigorous, and standards based instruction that will prepare our students for a successful future in whichever path they choose. We will engage in the conversations that identify and disrupt systemic barriers in order to provide all students with the same opportunities. Our Statement We are building a community where every student is successful and thriving. Programming: Yale operates on a traditional elementary schedule with approximately 90-minute math and literacy blocks. We use Bridges for math and Wonders for literacy. Our 90-day plan outlines 3 priorities for the 2025-2026 school year, Backwards Design in math instruction, response to data through the intervention program, and Culture and Climate: Incorporating SEL and Behavior supports to create a positive classroom environment. Personnel: We have an Instructional Leadership Team who participate in professional learning, study data, develop/review the 90-day Plan, and lead school improvement efforts. We have an ILT who will be planning and delivering professional development Yale has a Building Council charged with advocating for improving building systems and learning environments. Finally, our MTSS and PBIS teams ensure that all staff are supported in their efforts to provide proactive, effective, and targeted academic and behavioral interventions. Process for data analysis: This year, our PLC teams meet twice a week. The second day of the week is for DDI to determine the next instructional steps to take. Discussion around: where students did well, where students need additional instruction, review of challenges that need to be prioritized, and develop a plan for reteaching. The structure for the Yale PLC/DDI system has been developed. We are in phase 2: implementation. Each month we conduct parent meetings to collaborate and plan the trajectory of our school based on the data, UIP, and budget. Parents are encouraged to voice their ideas through our monthly parent coffee. We ensure that all families are able to participate through the hiring of interpreters and providing the option for virtual participation. We have a Community Committee that is led by staff members and our Community Liaison. They plan out and organize community engagement opportunities each month. We bring in community stakeholders to lead after school clubs for our students. Throughout the year hundreds of students have the opportunity to participate in extra curricular activities.
