Blevins Middle School is a neighborhood school in west Fort Collins. Our mission statement is "Inspire Every One, Every Day". Blevins is a Project-Based Learning school, which emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration, real-world application, and community involvement. PBL happens through cross-curricular collaboration and a specialized PBL class, available to all students. We are also a relatively small middle school in our area with 420 students. nts, especially in Math and English-Language Arts. We have a diverse student population with about 30% identified as Minority students, 24% identified as Hispanic students, 49% identified as Free and Reduced Lunch Eligible, 15% of students with an IEP, and 12% of students with a GT identification. Blevins has two Special Education programs - Multicategorical and a center-based program for students with Affective Needs (one of two middle schools in Poudre School District). Our schedule accommodates a large offering of electives and implements academic intervention courses. Through a grant with CDE, 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, we offer an after-school program four days a week, for up to 2.5 hours, with tutoring, clubs, snacks, and transportation home. This grant also provides us the opportunity to implement a 6th grade summer transition program for three weeks in July-August.
