About Centennial High School (3760)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Centennial High School

2025-2026

Centennial High School (CHS) is an alternative high school in the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, Colorado serving 9th through 12th grade. Centennial High School aligns with the PSD District Ends, working toward the following outcomes: (1) Foundations for Success - CHS students attain skills to ensure long term academic success; (2) Success in a Changing World - CHS students prepare for college and workforce success through access to a variety of college and career experiences; (3) Above… and Beyond - CHS students are challenged and inspired to reach their personal level of excellence by exploring opportunities to cultivate their talents and explore multiple pathways to high levels of success; and (4) Connections - CHS students feel academically and socially connected to their school and community as they engage in opportunities to support their individual pursuits and interests. Centennial incorporates a six-week grading period, called Hexters, so that new students from across the school district can be enrolled at a higher frequency throughout the year. As part of the orientation and CHS entry process, all new students must successfully complete a Hexter-long Discovery class that teaches pro-social skill development and positive behavior before they can matriculate into the full five-period day. CHS has built-in structures to promote positive culture and climate, as well as positive student attendance, along with supportive measures such as access to individual counseling, mental health support, a school-based health center, and low student-to-teacher classroom ratios. Each course within the school district curriculum has been redesigned at Centennial as a six-week standalone course that meets grade level standards, and students have access to additional courses through the APEX online programming, the District's Career Technical Center, and Front Range Community College.
