Tavelli Elementary School Located in the northern part of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tavelli Elementary is a Pre-K through fifth-grade school serving approximately 500 students during the 2023?24 school year. Historically, Tavelli?s enrollment averaged 580 students before 2020. During the 2021?22 school year, enrollment decreased to 435 students due to COVID-related impacts. Current enrollment includes 482 students in grades K?5 and 25 students in Pre-K. The Tavelli staff and parent community are d… eeply committed to ensuring high-quality instruction and overall school effectiveness so that every student is prepared for success in the next grade level and beyond. As a STEAM-focused school , Tavelli emphasizes academics, character, and wellness as the foundation of learning. Mission Our mission is to engage students for academic and social success. We inspire a community of diverse learners through collaboration and accountability so that all children are prepared to thrive in a global society. Academic Focus Tavelli?s instructional priorities include strengthening literacy and math at the universal level for all students, with a particular emphasis on supporting English Language Learners. The school has engaged in environmental scans, data analysis, and Root Cause Analysis processes to improve teaching and learning continuously. Academic growth remains a central goal, with teachers and staff collaborating through grade-level planning, Professional Learning Communities, and the School Accountability Committee. Social-Emotional Learning & School Cultur e Tavelli has successfully implemented a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system that includes clear behavioral expectations, Tiger Training, and recognition systems such as Tiger Paws and Tiger Tickets. Social-emotional learning (SEL) is a high priority and is embedded through programs such as Second Step, Classroom Social Contracts, Restorative Practices, and regulation rooms to support both Tier 1 and Tier 2 students. This approach fosters belonging, resilience, and emotional well-being across the school community. Community Engagement Stakeholders are actively involved in Tavelli?s improvement efforts through staff meetings, grade-level goal setting, MTSS team collaboration, and teacher professional development planning. Families and the School Accountability Committee play an essential role in shaping the school?s direction. Enrichment & Future Readiness Tavelli provides enrichment opportunities designed to extend student learning and prepare them for success in the future. With a focus on literacy, math, social-emotional wellness, and preparing students to graduate with options, Tavelli Elementary continues to nurture well-rounded learners equipped for both academic achievement and personal growth.
