About Ridgeview Classical Schools (0146)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Ridgeview Classical Schools

2025-2026

Ridgeview Classical Schools is a K-12 charter school with a focus on classical education. We place a high priority on instruction in Latin and Greek (Latin instruction begins in Kindergarten, and Greek language instruction begins in the 8th grade) as well as the classical trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric. The elementary and middle school curriculum is based upon the core knowledge sequence; the high school uses original works from the western canon, uses primary sources for history, and h… as a strong science curriculum. We ability-group students for mathematics and use the Singapore Math curriculum in the elementary. Ridgeview?s character education is woven throughout the K-12 experience and is examined through examples in literature and history. Our focus is on teaching our students to contemplate their purpose in the world and what it means to live the good life - the RCS senior experience culminates in a final thesis project which consists of a 15-20 page essay and a 45 minute presentation and defense on that very topic. Our demographics are similar to PSD with respect to minority students and those that qualify for reduced lunch programs. The school?s philosophy focuses on our own criteria of judging high level thinking, depth of understanding, cultural literacy, and introducing our students to the world in which they live through engagement in the great conversation beginning with the Ancient Greeks and continuing through the American Founding through to the present day. Standardized testing is used to confirm our teachers? assessment of how the students are progressing. Typically, when a student scores poorly on a standardized test, the teachers are already aware of any problems and are working to help the student. Student Services works closely with students with individualized plans. It is our desire that all students eventually attain a level of proficiency or above.
