Boulder Prep Charter High School

2024-2025

Boulder Prep is a college preparatory charter school serving high school students. We are designated as an alternative education campus. The school demographic for the 23/24 school year is as follows: Active enrollment of 100 students ages 14-20 (grades 9-12) 138 students served in SY2024 27 graduated 8 completed GED/HSED 16 dropped out 15 transferred 87% Average daily attendance 55% White, 45% BIPOC 24% SPED, 20% 504 Plans, 20% Low-Income, 10% Homeless/McKinney Vento 91% meet statutory definiti… on of High-risk (§22-20-108, C.R.S.) We operate on an 4-week year round Quad schedule. The school community is what sets Boulder Prep apart; we provide a great deal of social and emotional support for students in addition to academics, both during the school day and outside of regular school hours. Our staff meets for 3 hours each week to discuss school operations and individual student progress. The process for developing the UIP primarily involves a collaborative effort by all staff facilitated by Lili Adeli, the Headmaster, and Dominick Walls, our Program Director. We also gather feedback from students regularly through google surveys and focus groups. Each spring, we have the students complete a School Climate Survey where they evaluate teaching, curriculum, community, and programs. In May 2024, 79% of students indicated that they get the academic support they need. 13% neither agreed nor disagreed, and only four students felt they didn't get the support they needed. 62% reported getting the non-academic (social/emotional) support they needed which is up by 30% from the prior year. 24% neither agreed nor disagreed and 7 students felt they didn't get the social/emotional support they needed. The district also surveys students and parents once a year. Results from these surveys in addition to informal student feedback are used to help inform our UIP. In February 2021, we had consultants complete a holistic review of the school which included a parent panel, student focus groups, and interviews with district representatives. Their findings and recommendations have been incorporated into this UIP. The Boulder Prep Staff members collectively review the goals and monitor progress quarterly.
