About Mountain View Elementary School (6150)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Mountain View Elementary School

2025-2026

Mountain View Elementary School is located on the western edge of Adams 12 Five Star School District in Broomfield, serving 518 preschool through fifth grade students during the 2025-26 school year. In addition to being a traditional public elementary school, Mountain View is also home to a center-based Deaf/Hard of Hearing program that supports students in pre-school through fifth grade from all of Adams County and parts of our neighboring counties. Our D/HH students typically make up about 10%… of our overall student population. We are very proud of the students in our D/HH program, as it makes our school unique and contributes to our overall positive and caring school community. Mountain View is currently serving students with the following demographics: Race/Ethnicity: 45.4% diverse student groups Multilingual Learners: 11% Individualized Education Plans: 21.3% Deaf/Hard of Hearing: 10% Gifted & Talented: 9.5% (K-5) Students receiving free and reduced lunch benefits: 38.49% (2024-25 school year) Mountain View aligns our educational practices with the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Theory of Action. In our commitment to educational equity, where every student receives what they need to develop to their full potential by reducing the historical predictability of who succeeds and who fails, we are implementing the following theory of action. When educators: -commit to knowing each student by name (including how to pronounce it correctly), strength (what they are passionate about/excel at in and outside of school), and need (what challenges/worries students in and outside of school), -understand and actively address the barriers to learning faced by historically marginalized students, including but not limited to racism, poverty, language difference, and abilities, -know grade level/course focus standards aligned to our district Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum and how students demonstrate mastery of those standards, -commit to utilizing instructional methods and practices that elicit evidence of student learning and promote student ownership of learning, and -collaboratively and individually plan lessons and learning experiences that combine their knowledge of each student, grade level/course standards and effective instructional methods THEN students will regularly engage in learning partnerships that are not only relevant, meaningful, and empowering but also culturally affirming, inclusive, and equitable, AND data will show improvement in student growth, achievement, and postsecondary workforce readiness (PWR)
