About Eisenhower Elementary School (2552)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Eisenhower Elementary School

2024-2025

Eisenhower Elementary is a school of around 310 students in Boulder, Colorado. Eisenhower is a cohesive and creative neighborhood school that fosters excellence. We are proud of our diversity, and we believe that every individual in the community brings something unique and special to our school. Eisenhower offers a strong learning community for all students. We challenge our advanced learners and support our struggling students. We are proud of our students and their many accomplishments. Eisen… hower has traditionally been a high performing school with awards that have included The John Irwin School of Excellence Award and multiple Governor's Distinguished Improvement Awards. Eisenhower is typically ranked in the Top 100 Elementary Schools in Colorado by various websites and was most recently one of the top 12 Denver Business Journal's Top 25 Elementaries in the Denver/Boulder area and in the top 50 schools in the state according to Schooldigger.com. Our diversity includes approximately 19% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch rates. In addition, about 16% of our students are English Language Learners. 9.8% of our population has a Special Education designation and 7.2% qualify for Talented and Gifted services. 26.8% of our students are minorities. In addition to differentiation in the regular classroom, to meet the needs of all students, we have an iBlock schedule designed to protect core instructional time. Each grade level has 35 minutes where students who need additional literacy support (K-4), Special Education support (all levels) and Talent and Gifted (3rd-5th) meet with teachers in that specialty. In the regular classroom, students who do not attend one of these special sections get further individual instruction based on their needs. CLDE(Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) students are served in a Co-Teaching/Co-Planning model where the CLDE teacher plans writing instruction with each team, then co-teaches those lessons with the classroom teacher. CLDE students are cluster grouped to maximize instructional time and also receive additional small group support during this time. Also, we offer a 4th/5th grade compacted math curriculum in 4th grade and a 6th/7th grade curriculum for 5th graders who have mastered most of the standards on the assessment given at the beginning of the school year. Developing and monitoring the UIP is a collaborative process at Eisenhower Elementary. Teacher leadership is used when analyzing data, setting goals, and implementing staff development necessary to meet those goals. Currently the leadership team give input on the UIP. Additionally, we have an active School Accountability Committee, made up of staff and parents who regularly give input into the UIP process and will monitor the implementation.
