STEM Lab School Overview: The STEM Lab School (STEM Lab) is a public school located in Northglenn, CO and serves students from all areas of the Adams 12 School District. STEM Lab serves 744 students PK-8 with the following demographics: 27.28% Hispanic/Latino, 4,84% Asian, 1.48% African American, 0.27% American Indian, 58.06% White, and 8.06% Two or more Races. Of STEM's 744 students 54.97% are Male and 45.03% are Female. STEM serves the full range of students including those who qualify for Fre… e and Reduced Lunch (31.8%), students receiving Special Education services (11.96%), Multilingual Learners (2.28%), students with 504s (8.6%), and students identified as Gifted and Talented (16.53%). The school uses science, technology, engineering and mathematics to bring relevance to student work and make connections to society and the global world that we live in. STEM Lab also has a fully integrated arts curriculum that is designed to be responsive and intentional to student needs and support within the instructional model. Students work in collaborative, cooperative groups that tackle authentic, relevant problems that span content areas in a trans-disciplinary, problem-solving approach. This work is done through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. Through Problem Based Learning (PBL), students engage in inquiry and collaboration to create solutions to authentic problems, such as a bridge collapse or increasing warning times for natural disasters. Each problem is examined through various lenses, including, but not limited to, science, technology, engineering and math in order to create solutions that benefit humanity. Industry partners serve as mentors, bringing relevance to students? work and serving on panels to review students? accomplishments. Performance Status and Notable Achievements: STEM Lab is at Performance status with a score of 70.3/100 for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a decrease from the 2024-25 SPF score of 72.5/100 points. Within the past few years notable achievements include: -CMAS performance of STEM Lab students exceeded that of both the district and state at all grade levels and subject areas. -Students completed 30+ Problem Based Learning units where they solved authentic problems and presented their solutions to panels of experts. UIP Process: Data Analysis The completion of the Data Analysis Worksheet including trend data, priority performance challenges, and root cause analysis involved the collaboration between the principal, assistant principal, STEM coordinator, all certified teachers and parents on our School Accountability Team. The team considered State Testing data (PARCC/CMAS/ACCESS) from 2017-2025. We also examined our Benchmark (K-3), Dibbles (D8) and MAP assessments for Math and Reading. Behavior referrals for students were also analyzed.
