School Name: Discovery Canyon Campus High School Discovery Canyon Campus, a PreK-12 International Baccalaureate continuum, inspires, educates, and prepares our students through engaging and challenging learning experiences in a safe, collaborative, caring community, to develop and pursue their unique purpose as contributing global citizens. Year Built: 2007 High School (Campus 2005) Programs/Focus Areas: DCC is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, providing the IB experience to all … students at all levels in a comprehensive public high school setting. While all students have access to IB courses, DCC provides Diploma Programme (DP) & Career-related Programme (CP) diploma options as well. 99.8% of students at DCC take IB courses through the Middle-Years Programme (MYP) freshman and sophomore year, and at least one standard level or higher level course during the junior and senior year making it truly and IB for All school. DCC offers Career Academies in Bio-Medical Sciences and Engineering through the Career-related Programme (CP). Other Career-related Programme offers are in Business, Teacher Cadet, and Visual Arts. DCC offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses in addition to the IB experience. Concurrent Enrollment options offered to DCC students through PPCC, UCCS & CU Denver include: CU Succeed Platinum/Gold courses Career Start programs in the areas of Auto Collison, Auto Service, Construction, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Cybersecurity, Diesel Power, Early Childhood Ed, Fire Science, Health Career, Health Science, Graphic Design, Media, Welding & Zookeeping PPCC Campus Pathways CNA & EMT programs Certification through the International Salon & Spa Academy (ISSA) UCCS Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses in Engineering and Biomedical Science UCCS Pre-Collegiate Development Program (PCDP) PPCC courses Special Education and 504 placement support the needs of the exceptional student. DCC utilizes a Strengths-based approach, implementing CliftonStrengths? to promote student self-awareness and success.
