About Newton Middle School (4316)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Newton Middle School

2025-2026

We believe that middle school is a journey between elementary and high school. This is a time of change for students and their families, this includes discovery of knowledge, of themselves, and of the people around them and how they fit in. Our teachers and administrative staff have years of experience at the middle school level and we ''get'' middle school students and how to guide them through their journey. At Newton we live by the Knights CODE. We expect our students to be Caring, Open Minde… d, Disciplined and Engaged. We are a Positive Behavior Intervention Support School (PBIS). We do regular trainings with our students throughout the school year to teach them to be accepting of others, to assist each other in belonging and how to be a Newton Knight. We offer all students a minimum of eighty minutes of Math and Language Arts every day. We also offer accelerated classes in Math and Language Arts, all taught right at Newton Middle School with highly qualified teachers in all content areas. Our schedule is a modified block schedule which assists in preparing our students for high school. The block schedule also reduces the number of passing periods per day and the number of classes students need to attend per day. At the the end of each day we offer a Knight Time Enrichment/Intervention block of time. This allows students to take up to an additional twelve elective/exploratory classes per year beyond their regularly scheduled elective classes. This time also serves as an intervention time providing all students with timely, targeted interventions in any class if needed. At Newton we prepare our students for their high school experience and beyond. We are proud of our school and our programming and feel we are the best kept secret among middle schools in the state. Due to our size?..only around 780 students, we are able to personally build relationships with our students and parents in order to partner together to give each student the best middle school experience possible. Lastly, we recently moved into a brand new school, built to engage all students thanks to our school community passing our most recent bond. We have the best facilities that money can buy and we are thankful to be able to provide the best education we can provide in our new environment.
