Cherry Creek Academy is a K-8 Public Charter School authorized by the Cherry Creek School District. Our student population for the 2023-2024 school year was 571 students. 15.1% of our students are multi-lingual learners. 4.4% of our students are identified as gifted and talented. 18.4% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunches, and 7.5% receive Special Education services. e created a process to monitor the growth of our students from local and state assessments. In the fall, winter, and spring of each year, our students take the iReady math and reading assessment in grades K-8. In addition, our teachers administer the Independent Reading Assessment (IRLA) elementary students in the fall of the year and continue to monitor the progress students are making by reassessing each student using the IRLA and then setting power goals throughout the year with each learner. In math, all teachers use iReady assessments to measure the growth of our students throughout the year. This local assessment allows teachers to shift their instruction to respond to and meet the needs of every student. Our students in grades 3-8 take the state CMAS assessment, which allows us to understand their progress in relation to peers across the local district and state of Colorado.
