Cherokee Trail High School is a public high school located in the suburban area of Southeast Aurora, Colorado and is a part of the Cherry Creek School District. The staff, faculty, counselors, deans, and administrators promote a college-oriented atmosphere with an emphasis on the school?s mission statement: Our actions will ignite the genius and nurture the goodness within us all. ces for each child. The school offers a variety of programs and opportunities that enrich the academic experience for all students. These programs include Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Concurrent/Dual Enrollment (CE/DE) course offerings, multiple elective course offerings based around student interests, Language Acquisition courses, targeted reading and math instruction, and specialized instructional support for students with special needs. Cherokee Trail also offers a co-teaching model to support our multilingual learners and students with identified disabilities. Co-teaching is an endorsed instructional approach to provide meaningful instruction for all learners. We have worked to create a Professional Learning Community that involves all adults in the building. We have collaborative team facilitators who have been trained and who help to inform the professional learning in our building. We have also developed job-embedded professional learning through the use of Instructional Coaching and Professional Learning Opportunities that are offered three times a semester.
