About Greeley West High School (3614)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Greeley West High School

2025-2026

Greeley West High School is the largest comprehensive high school in both Weld County and the Greeley-Evans School District 6, currently serving 1,938 students during the 2024?2025 academic year?representing a growth of over 15% in the past five years. We are proud to offer a diverse array of rigorous academic and career-readiness programs. These include the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme (MYP), as well as submitting our application to IB for the Ca… reer Programme (CP) for the 26-27 school year. GWHS also boosts a robust Advanced Placement (AP) Program as well as several Concurrent and Dual Enrollment opportunities through partnerships with Aims Community College and the University of Northern Colorado. Greeley West also holds the distinction of being an AVID National Demonstration School. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways feature high-impact programs such as the High School of Business?, Construction Management P-TECH, and Agriculture and Horticulture. Notably, our FFA chapter is the largest in the State of Colorado, with over 300 active members. In August 2022, we opened a new, state-of-the-art replacement facility, funded through a bond initiative passed by our supportive community in November 2019. However, the transition brought temporary challenges related to facilities, traffic flow, and parking access. These issues were resolved following the completion of demolition and construction efforts in December 2022. Our student demographics continue to evolve, mirroring the increasing diversity of our broader community. The proportion of economically disadvantaged students has risen from 48% in 2010 to approximately 70% in 2025. Currently, the school serves around 200 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), representing 11% of the student body. Within this group, 18 students participate in our Intensive Autism Program. English language support remains a critical component of our educational services. We currently support 101 Newcomer English Proficient (NEP) students, some of whom had no formal education prior to enrollment and 135 Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students, representing around 12% of our student population. Today, 74.53% of our students identify as members of racial or ethnic minority groups. To meet the demands of increased enrollment and support academic excellence, the staff at Greeley West High School has grown significantly. Over the past five years, we have added nearly 400 students and 30 full-time educators. Our administrative and instructional teams are deeply committed to data-driven decision-making. Weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Data Teams bring together content-area teachers to analyze student performance data and guide instructional planning. These teams meet regularly to: Align instruction to grade-level standards; Develop assessments and student exemplars; Plan for formative and summative assessments integrated reading, writing, and academic discourse; Design differentiated strategies and scaffolds to ensure content accessibility for all students; Review student performance indicators such as grades, assessment outcomes, and behavioral data; Collaborate on school-wide academic and behavioral interventions; Examine school climate and culture; and Implement evidence-based instructional strategies. The primary goal of this collaborative work is to improve student academic outcomes and overall school performance by identifying areas of need and developing actionable plans for continuous improvement.
