About Frontier Charter Academy (1875)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Frontier Charter Academy

2025-2026

Frontier Academy is a K-12 Charter School with two campuses in Greeley. Our unified improvement plan is a collaborative effort of the executive director, elementary and secondary principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches, and the School Accountability Committee. Frontier Academy K12 has the following demographics (as per Greeley/Evans Student information services): 47.4% minority students, 52.6% white, 10.9% special education, 7.8% GT, and 4.7% ELL. In general, most courses at Fron… tier include a representative distribution of our various demographic groups. There are a few minor exceptions. In some cases, middle school students with an IEP attend a period of tutorial instead of a music class. Some middle school students needing additional math support will attend math intervention time instead of a computer or art class. Some 9th and 10th grade students with an IEP attend a tutorial class instead of a world language class.  Kindergarten through 5th grade is located on the elementary campus while 6th through 12th grade are located on a separate campus roughly 5 miles away. Student transition between 5th to 6th grade has historically been accompanied with a drop in achievement and growth as measured by CMAS. This transition was a previous focus on the 2021 and 2023 UIPs. We continue to support student transitions between these grades by aligning practices and curriculum. At the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, Frontier adopted a new 4th grade through Algebra II math curriculum (Envision 2.0). In math at the elementary level, this was the first curricular overhaul in 20 years. This change in math curriculum represents the first time that our elementary and secondary schools have used a common and aligned curriculum. Starting in August 2019, Kindergarten through 3rd grade also adopted the same math curriculum to have more consistency in language and pedagogical approach.  In the 2024-2025 school year, the school participated in a vertical alignment project of all curriculum for grades K-12 to ensure consistency throughout Frontier Academy. This project specifically focused on the transition points from elementary to middle school and middle school to high school.
