Kathryn Senor Elementary is a Pre-K?5 public school in New Castle serving approximately 277 students in Garfield Re-2. Our current priorities are strengthening instruction for multilingual learners, accelerating growth in English Language Arts and mathematics, and developing students? social-emotional skills using the RULER approach. Core programs include CKLA (new this year) and Eureka Math 2, with progress monitored through i-Ready and DIBELS. We implement a schoolwide MTSS framework with dedi…
cated intervention/enrichment blocks for ELA and targeted math supports embedded in core instruction. Student services include a resource program and a Significant Support Needs (SSN) program. Approximately half of our students are Spanish-speaking; family communication is provided in English and Spanish via ParentSquare and school newsletters. Students receive Art, Music, PE, and Library/Media. Family partnerships are strong?KSE PTAC helped fund a new playground?and recent highlights include our highest SPF in the past decade and strong CMAS growth in ELA and math.
