Graham Mesa Elementary School is located in Rifle, Colorado on the I-70 corridor. GME is part of the Garfield RE-2 school district serving Pre-K through 5th grade. GME's current enrollment is 424 students with 46.9% being free/reduced lunch, 60% minority, and 31% being multilingual learners. GME's school attendance was 92.2% for the 2024-2025 school year. parents in pursuit of engaging with, connecting with, and exploring learning everywhere. The vision of GME is to have students RISE to become a bear by being responsible, have integrity, service others and expect more. These values are in alignment with the school's strategic plan and the 5 pillars: academic achievement, student wellness, staff success, community success, and college and career readiness. In order to service our students and community to the best of our ability, student performance priorities were selected with staff input through a data analysis protocol looking at GME's SPF. Categories were analyzed by groups of staff and priorities were identified through the questioning protocol. Then, staff used a root cause analysis to determine the reasons for the needed improvement. Finally, staff were able to identify ways to improve on these priorities through discussion. These findings were presented to the school accountability committee which also asked questions and provided input. After the priorities were refined through this process, the priorities, root causes and improvement strategies were submitted to the district administration and school board for final approval.
