Grand Mesa Choice Academy is an alternative high school serving students in grades 10?12 who are seeking a different path to success. We recognize that not all students thrive in traditional school settings, and our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and flexible learning environment where every student has the opportunity to achieve both academically and personally. At the heart of our work is a commitment to credit recovery, ensuring that students who have fallen behind can get back on …
track toward graduation. We believe that every student deserves a second chance and the resources to make the most of it. Our teachers and staff work closely with students to identify barriers to success, create individualized learning plans, and provide targeted support so that students can earn the credits they need and build confidence in their abilities. However, we understand that success in school is about more than grades and credits. That?s why we place equal emphasis on the social and emotional growth of our students. Many of the young people we serve face significant challenges outside of school, and we are dedicated to helping them build resilience, strengthen their sense of self, and develop the skills they need to manage life?s ups and downs. Our staff provides mentoring, guidance, and support that help students feel seen, valued, and empowered to grow both as learners and as individuals. To meet the unique needs of our student body, Grand Mesa Choice Academy offers an alternative schedule designed with flexibility in mind. This allows students to balance school with work, family responsibilities, or personal challenges. We recognize that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work for every learner, and our scheduling options give students the chance to stay engaged in their education while also managing other important parts of their lives. Another cornerstone of our school is the Discovery program, which plays a vital role in helping students re-engage with learning and with themselves. Discovery is more than a class?it?s an experience that fosters teamwork, self-reflection, and personal growth. Students in Discovery build stronger connections with peers, develop trust in their teachers, and practice the communication and problem-solving skills that will serve them well beyond high school. Through Discovery, students find a renewed sense of belonging and purpose, which often serves as the foundation for future academic and personal success. Above all, Grand Mesa Choice Academy is a place where students can feel safe, respected, and supported. We provide not just an education, but an opportunity: a chance to start fresh, discover new strengths, and move forward toward graduation with hope for the future. Our goal is to ensure that every student who walks through our doors leaves with more than just a diploma?they leave with the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to thrive in whatever path they choose next. At Grand Mesa Choice Academy, we believe in our students, and we are here to walk beside them as they rediscover their potential and write their own success stories.
