ter school for student enrichment. We also offer before and after school daycare programming for our students and families. Our parents, families, and community partners are active within our school community through our Parent Teacher Organization, Building Accountability Committee, numerous volunteer opportunities, attending monthly school events/Title 1 events, and through our Community Cafes. We utilized our stakeholders and encouraged them to provide input and feedback within our school systems and UIP. Our school team, building leaders, parents/families, administration, and community members met to collaborate and develop this UIP. Our UIP Team developed major improvement strategies in these areas as we know that these will be major leverage areas to increase our student?s academic performance while supporting their social-emotional development. Starting in 2009, we received our first major award as a school. We earned the National Blue Ribbon award in 2009 and again in 2016. In 2011, we received the National Title 1 Award and again in 2020 aka The National ESEA Distinguished Schools Award in the area of special populations. Continuing with our success, we received CDE?s High Achiever?s Award in 2014 and 2017, John Irwin Award in 2016, 2017, and 2018. In 2014 until the present, CDE included us in the Connect for Success Grant for our work in helping to turn around low-performing schools. We continue to work with the state through the Connect for Success grant in helping low-achieving schools reform their processes. In our 20 years of serving the public, we?ve also had a Teacher of the Year for Colorado and two Milken Winners. Soaring Eagles continues to qualify as a Title 1 school for the 2025-2026 school year. We use most of our Title1 funds to pay for our paraprofessionals to run intervention groups with the following programs: Susan Barton, Linda Mood Bell, small group skill-based instruction, iReady, Hegarty, Phonics for Reading, SIPS, and ECRI. In addition to our ELA instruction, our certified staff and paraprofessionals will provide extensive before and after-school tutoring programs for students with needs in literacy and math. Soaring Eagles Community School saw a steading of our student population for the past years with 764 students enrolled. Our free and reduced population is approximately 60%. Our student population consists of 47% Hispanic, 16% Black, and 23% White, 13% Two or More Races, with the remaining 3% being a combination of Asian, American Indian/Alaskan Native, and Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. Our staff consists of over 47 highly qualified interim and full-time teachers and licensed staff members and 12 qualified instructional paraprofessionals. Due to our proximity to several military installations, we have approximately 150 students with military affiliations. In addition, our population includes 22% of our students from neighboring district(s) and 48% from our District schools. Currently, we are the home school to 31% of our population.
