About Wildflower Elementary School (9602)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Wildflower Elementary School

2024-2025

The Wildflower Mission statement promises: Wildflower Elementary School provides a safe, equitable and engaging environment where students are empowered to become life-long learners who achieve their highest potential and positively contribute to their community. The well-being of our students, staff, and community is worthy of our investment. In addition, Wildflower supports and aligns improvement efforts to Harrison School District 2?s Strategic Plan focusing on classroom, culture, and communi… ty. Wildflower resides in a small neighborhood tucked into the southeast corner of Harrison School District 2. Wildflower is one of only a few elementary schools in District 2 to provide bussing for students who are outside of the immediate neighborhood. Within the past six years, Wildflower?s neighboring boundaries were redistributed, which impacted the socioeconomic diversity of the building. Wildflower is ethnically diverse and the 2023-2024 student body was composed of the following percentages: 57% of students qualify of Free and Reduced Lunch 12.5% of students receive specialized instruction as defined in their Individualized Educational Plan 12% of student qualified for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education 2.6% of students have been identified as Gifted In addition to ethic diversity, Wildflower has socio-economic, cultural, and learning diversity as well. Diversity extends into school programing also as Wildflower has the honor of housing one center-based program for students with affective needs in addition toour three moderate needs classrooms, as well as a CLDE teachers for multilingual learners. Wildflower teachers consistently provide data driven instruction utilizing the research based programs approved by the Colorado Department of Education and adopted by D2. Each student is benchmarked through a variety of assessments and is progress monitored. This data is essential to facilitate Wildflower?s data meetings where the Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) model is implemented. Through the guidance and assistance of Wildflower?s reading interventionist and instructional coach, Wildflower teachers have been adequately prepared to provide targeted intervention to all students. This is the second year for the administrative team at Wildflower Elementary. In addition, all but four teachers returned to Wildflower this school year. It is believed that the foundations that were laid in the 23-24 school year in data driven practices, interventions and strong core instruction will support the next steps of ELA and Math. The next steps for this UIP were formulated based on feedback from staff and community members to support the growth of all learners.
