About Panorama Middle School (6686)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Panorama Middle School

2025-2026

Panorama Middle School is one of two comprehensive middle schools in Harrison School District Two (HSD2), which serves over 11,700 students in the Southeast region of Colorado Springs. Harrison School District Two is one of the major school districts in the Colorado Springs Metro area. The district is hailed as one of the most culturally diverse districts in the city. HSD2 is comprised of our nine elementary schools, four K-8 schools, one 6-12 online school, two middle schools, two high schools,… one career readiness academy, a home school program, and three charter school K-12 systems. Panorama Middle School is a comprehensive middle school that is part of the Sierra High School feeder system. The school?s enrollment is approximately 380 students. There are 44 certified teaching staff members, 3 counselors, and 23 classified support personnel. Teacher retention annually averages around 65-70%. At least 50% of teachers are in their first 5 years of teaching. The demographic of the students is approximately: Hispanic - 54%, White ? 18%, African American ? 17%, Two or More Races ? 8%, Asian/Pacific Islander ? 2%, and Native American ? Less than 1%. Male students account for 46% and females account for 54% of our student population. Approximately 90% of our students are designated socioeconomically disadvantaged. The percentage of our identified special populations is 2.1% Gifted, 22% Special education, and 18% English Language Learners. Panorama Middles School is home to many programs that make Panorama a unique place to learn. We are considered a STEAM school with a heavy emphasis on technology integration and science exploration, especially through our Elevate Grant. As an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) school, we align with its mission to close the opportunity gap by preparing ALL students for college readiness and success in a global society. We offer leadership courses for all grades, in addition to our AVID classes. These leadership classes focus on equity, restorative practices, and essential character formation. Panorama also participates as a PEAK education school, which is a comprehensive, community-based pre-collegiate program serving scholars and their families from middle school through college years and beyond. Each of these programs is offered to tap into student potential and help learners actualize that potential. In addition to our programs that meet the needs of our diverse population, we also have strong ties with our community partners. We work alongside national corporations ( i.e. T-Mobile Magenta Hope Community Partnership) and local small businesses and faith-based organizations of the southeast side of Colorado Springs to increase the opportunities for students ranging from basic needs (i.e. food, clothing, and financial assistance) to mentorship and scholarship opportunities.
