About CMAS English Language Arts (ELA)

Meaningful and relevant tests work hand-in-hand with rigorous academic standards. The state's summative tests are called the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), which measure students' mastery of the standards and the complex thinking and other critical skills students need to be successful in school and in life.

The CMAS English language arts/literacy (ELA) tests are for grades 3 through 8.

Note that participation in the state assessments can vary across schools, grade levels and student groups. Participation information should always be reviewed and taken into consideration thoughtfully when interpreting assessment results.
