About Central Elementary School (1434)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Central Elementary School

2025-2026

Central Elementary School, located in the St. Vrain Valley School District, serves 374 students in grades PK?5. Enrollment has steadily increased over the past three years due to strong community support, positive family experiences, and the district choice process. Central is accredited as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) school. The IB framework is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards and district curriculum resources. We align our UIP with the improvem… ent paln IB requires each year. Every five years, the school undergoes reauthorization to ensure fidelity to IB practices. That will begin next year 2026-2027. Teachers actively engage in professional development twice a month and collaborate weekly to plan IB lessons, review data, and discuss the wellness of their students. The teaching staff is highly experienced, averaging over 15 years of classroom practice, with very little turnover. They collaborate both vertically and horizontally to allow them to see the importance of each grade levels work. Central has a highly engaged parent community, with an active PTO that sponsors numerous family events. Parent-teacher conferences are well attended, with a 95% participation rate. Many parent volunteers dedicate countless hours to the school each year. There is a volunteer training families take before helping in classroom. In the last two years more than 120 people have been trained. Currently, about 30.6% of students qualify for Free/Reduced Meals, 6.1% are minority students ( 74.8 white, 18.4% Hispanic, 6.8% two or more races and Asian) and 6.1% are Multilingual Learners. These percentages have remained steady or shown slight increases in recent years due to the growth of enrollment in the school. In the fall of 2025, the IB leadership team conducted a comprehensive review of CMAS, district, and local assessment data. The team analyzed student achievement and growth trends, identifying strengths, performance challenges, and root causes. Data were disaggregated by grade level, content area, and subgroup. These analyses were shared with staff and the PTO to gather further insights and feedback. Graphs 1-3 have the school information below.
