Niwot High School is located in a semi-suburban/semi-rural setting in between the cities of Boulder and Longmont, Colorado. The school is classified as 4A according to CHSAA, and the approximately 1450 students are broken down by the following: 60% White, 28% Hispanic, and 11% classified as ''Other.'' 7.5% of the student body is classified as ELL, 22% qualify for a Free or Reduced Lunch, 19% are Gifted and Talented, and 7.8% have an IEP. onal Baccalaureate (I.B.) Program, taking A.P. courses, taking traditional-track courses, taking multiple world languages, taking numerous electives in computer science, art, music and P.E., or enrolling in a concurrent enrollment college class. Approximately 38% of the students participate in the I.B. Program in grades 9-12. Approximately 65% of the student body is open-enrolled from outside of NHS? attendance zone, with a significant number of those students enrolling in the I.B. Program. The I.B. Program traditionally has had a 90% I.B. Diploma success rate. Data analysis and root cause analysis is undertaken by the Building Leadership Team (BLT), which is comprised of the principals and the department chair from each department.
