Centennial Elementary is located in Firestone, Colorado, a small town that is experiencing tremendous growth. Centennial Elementary opened in the fall of 2008 with 426 students. Currently, for the 2024-2025 school year we serve approximately 523 kinder-5th grade students. The school population includes 60.8% Caucasian, 39.2% minority, with 10% English Language Learners, and 17% special education, the percentage of FRL for the 24-25 school year is 16%. 2% of our population is identified as GT. is has held consistent over the past 5 years. We have four rounds in Kinder, 1st, 3rd and 5th grade, and three rounds in 2nd and 4th grades. We have a full-time literacy teacher who also manages our MTSS process, a .75 ELL teacher, and a full time Innovation Lab Teacher. In analyzing course taking, our GT students are offered an additional course once a week. We also include students not necessarily identified GT but those who are performing at that level. Centennial Elementary?s vision is to provide a safe, consistent, and engaging environment so students transition from elementary school as confident, compassionate, and capable lifelong learners. Centennial is committed to creating clear and focused academic goals that set high expectations for all students. With the school?s focus on innovation, students learn to empathize, define, and ideate new ways to solve problems as they work collaboratively to prototype and test solutions.
