About Longmont Estates Elementary School (5284)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Longmont Estates Elementary School

2025-2026

Longmont Estates Elementary has been a staple of the Longmont community for the past 56 years. This year we are serving 365 students, PreK-5. Of the students, 68.4% are white, 23.5% are Hispanic, .5 % are Asian, .5 Native American, .5% are Black and 6.3% are Multi-Racial. Our school has been a STEM-focused school for the past six years. Our teaching staff has been trained in the Stanford Design Process and project-based learning. We have a STEM lab where teachers can bring students to conduct de… sign challenges. In our program, all students from Pre-K-5th learn how to code and participate in the Engineering Design Process. Our teachers integrate STEM into all aspects of the school day. STEM allows students opportunities to develop and apply 21st-century skills while working to solve real-world problems. Our school was named an Apple Distinguished School in 2023 , highlighting our commitment to quality technology integration. Our staff works with an Apple Professional Learning Coach every 6 weeks to plan and implement innovative lessons that use technology to enhance learning. The percentage of students on IEPs has been steadily growing. We currently have 25% of our students on IEPs. Our school currently has the highest percentage of students with IEPs among the k-12 schools in St. Vrain. This requires our teachers to be mindful of differentiation and making content accessible. Our school houses an autism center-based program. We provide specialized programming for students with autism who can?t be effectively served in their home schools. We currently have 21 students in the program. We also have an ECE/ECSE program that serves 33 students in half-day classes. Our free and reduced population is 42.5%. Our percentage of FRL students has been increasing over the past few years. The free breakfast and lunch program has greatly benefited many of our students. We have a very stable teaching staff, with only two new teachers this year. We have established a collaborative partnership with the University of Colorado at Boulder to provide training for a selection of their practicum and student teachers. We also work with students pursuing their teaching degree through a district program called P-TEACH. Hosting practicum students encourages our teachers to reflect on their own teaching methods, styles, and classroom dynamics. Providing feedback and guidance to these students fosters a culture of continuous improvement among our faculty. Additionally, the presence of practicum students provides our existing students with enriched learning experiences. These students often bring fresh perspectives, innovative teaching techniques, and the latest educational theories into our classrooms, positively impacting the overall learning environment.
