Fall River Elementary's achievement on the state assessment (CMAS), as well as the State Performance Framework are at historical levels for the school. The school has been recognized three times in the past five years with the Governor's award for growth and/or performance. Fall River has an overall FRL population of approximately 30%, and a minority population of approximately 26% (most of which is Hispanic); the percentage of students qualifying for free or reduced lunches has risen steadily o…
ver the few years from below 10% in previous years to about 30%. Fall River has a part-time ESL teacher, one full-time literacy teacher, a part-time literacy teacher, and full-time school counselor. Fall River also uses the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Model, and has an MTSS Coordinator. Fall River has a notable percentage of special needs students who need significant support, and is a Colorado Model School for High-Functioning Significant Support Special Education. Fall River was a past recipient of a federal Race to the Top Grant, which assisted the school in the process of becoming a STEM focus school. Fall River has met state expectations of achievement and growth on state assessments, though the school continues to address persistent growth gaps especially for students qualifying for free and reduced lunch and for boys. Fall River has engaged in on-going PD to support prior UIP goals, and has generally met targets. Fall River maintains a very low percentage of students qualifying for READ plans.
