A MESSAGE FROM:

Park View Elementary School

2025-2026

Park View School of Discovery, serving preschool through fifth grade in Pueblo, Colorado, faces unique challenges related to the high mobility of both staff and students as well as the socioeconomic needs of its community. The school serves 287 students . Staffing across grade levels includes two teachers per grade, except for fourth grade, which has three certified teachers. Park View also offers a full range of enrichment and student supports, including a physical education teacher, a music te… acher, a 0.5 media/0.5 technology teacher, and a newly added STREAM teacher. As of September 1, 2025, 95.5% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch, reflecting the community?s high economic need. During the 2024?2025 school year, the school?s average attendance rate was 88.96%, below the district?s expectation of 95%. Attendance and engagement remain priority areas, supported by a full-time school counselor who implements the SEL curriculum and partners with a full-time community advocate to address attendance and truancy concerns. The cultural and linguistic diversity of Park View continues to grow. As of September 1, 2025 , 13.02 % of students are identified as Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD), leading to the addition of a full-time CLDE teacher . To strengthen academic and behavioral support systems, the school also added a 0.5 Behavior Interventionist/0.5 RTI Coordinator , whose role is to proactively review and enhance the MTSS process while addressing rising discipline needs. Park View provides strong support for students with exceptional needs. Currently, 19.02% of students receive special education services from three certified special education teachers , assisted by a Speech-Language Pathologist (one day per week), a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (one day per week), as well as a social worker and a school psychologist . Park View is also a proud recipient of the Project Heroes Grant , which focuses on integrating STREAM (Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and Project-Based Learning (PBL) into daily instruction. The goal of this work is to increase student attendance and achievement by creating hands-on, engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity and motivate students to succeed.
