Serving over 300 students, VPA is the only middle school in the state with over 75% Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL) students to have achieved and sustained top performance ratings from the Colorado Department of Education since 2010?a testament to our unwavering commitment to addressing historical disparities and delivering exceptional educ…

Our diverse student body includes 75% second language learners (ELs) and 97% students from historically underrepresented groups, reflecting the rich cultural fabric of our community. VPA takes immense pride in the academic achievements of these students, who have consistently outperformed expectations. In English Language Arts (ELA), students from historically underrepresented groups at VPA have demonstrated strong proficiency, contributing to an overall mean scale score of 746.2. In Math, these students have excelled, helping the school achieve a mean scale score of 730.5 and an "Exceeds" rating in growth. These achievements highlight the effectiveness of our instructional strategies and our unwavering focus on equity, ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have the opportunity to succeed. Over the years, VPA has seen continuous improvement in student outcomes, with year-over-year growth in both median scores and proficiency levels.
