About Colorado Springs Charter Academy (1791)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Colorado Springs Charter Academy

2025-2026

Colorado Springs Charter Academy (CSCA) is a K-8 school that was founded in 2005 by a group of parents who wanted a classical educational model focused on character and strong academics. CSCA serves approximately 295 students: 220 students in grades Elementary K-6 and 75 students in grades Middle School 7-8.  This student population includes but isn't limited to the following percentages: 50% qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, 8.5% Multilanguage Learners, 10% students with IEPS, and 4% gifted s… tudents.  Our use of Core Knowledge and Shurley English curriculum helps develop our students into lifelong learners who are well prepared to succeed in life. We guide students to perform at their very best levels and lead them to a discovery of their talents and virtues as individuals and as members of a community.   Our Vision:  We kindle enthusiasm to craft bold and effective citizen-scholars. Our Mission:  Colorado Springs Charter Academy is love for community expressed in action. We are entrusted with dear purchase, to bind our students? days of innocence and joy with structure, content and character. To accomplish this, we cultivate the individual potential of all our students by: - Providing academically rigorous, proven, content-rich educational programs; - Developing incisive analytical skills and well-stocked minds; - Fostering self-advocacy, passion, citizenship, and exemplary character; - Holding individualized high expectations; - Involving and welcoming parents and community members. The Charter Academy Board of Directors and administration are collaborating to develop a new and improved strategic plan. This work is based on the school's vision and mission and will provide an overview of how we will continue to make our school a place of rigorous, effective education and a charter academy that produces students of great character. The strategic plan will serve as a guide in creating and implementing the Charter Academy's Unified Improvement Plan. In developing our UIP, we provide data to the stakeholders through meetings, reports, and other forms of communication throughout the year. Our stakeholders include a Board of Director member, school administration, staff, and the community. One way that the school community is represented is through the School Accountability Committee. The School Accountability Committee (SAC) is comprised of the Head of School, a Board of Directors member, student family members, teachers, and various community members that represent the school stakeholders. During 2025, CSCA's new SAC worked extensively to create a UIP that focuses on current performance challenges, including building opportunities for the community to learn more about their role in the educational process and a focus on Math and Reading performance. The School Accountability Committee created the draft UIP and made recommendations for the final UIP. The SAC meets on a monthly basis to monitor progress towards the UIP. This new UIP builds upon our past success, identifies current challenges and opportunities for growth, and provides a structure for moving CSCA toward continued success.
